Just one!

Today I only had to make a bento for myself, while i enjoy making bento for others it can be quite a struggle to think of what to pack as well as taking a little extra time to prepare.

So it was quite nice to be able to wake up later and only have to throw together a fast and tasty lunch.

This lunch took about 15 minutes in total to make, pack and photograph.

This lunch contains:

 • Mixed salad
 • Cherry tomatoes and
 • Egg coated noodles ( I think they need a name.. maybe Ramago? a mix of Tamago (egg) and Ramen (Noodles)

To make the “Ramago” (This is for one serving using a packet ramen)

 • Put 100ml of water in a pan and bring to boil.
 • Add noodles and any spices and stir to break up.
 • Keep stirring until all of the water has evaporated and then turn off heat.
 • Break an egg into a measuring jug and mix.
 • Put the noodles into the egg and stir to coat.
 • Add noodles and eggs back to the pan and cook fully over low heat.
 • Once the egg is fully cooked, turn of heat and serve as desired.

Quick and tasty manly bento

Today I had to be up early and I would be out for most of the day.
I had planned to make the bento last night but TV got in the way of that!!!
So this morning I woke, later than planned due to my alarm being silent, and went to making this bento:

In my man’s bento there is, egg fried curry noodles, cauliflower cheese, spicy chicken strips and mixed stir fry vegetables.

The egg fried noodles are now my favourite snack!!!!

All you do is cook your noodles ( I use instant ramen ) as the ingredients say, but don’t put in the flavour packet yet!
When the noodles are close to cooked drain.

Crack an egg into a cup and beat. Add the flavour packet to the eggs ( add any extra flavouring to the egg)

I use a non-stick pan so I don’t need any extra oil but if you want add a little cooking oil. Fry the noodles quickly and keep stirring. Pour the egg onto the noodles and keep stirring quickly.

Once the eggs are cooked the dish is complete!!
BEST NOODLES EVER!!!!!!

Another Aladdin Bento

Today I went to a local cash and carry called Makro ( I haven’t been for ages but my partner found his card so we could finally go!), it has changed a lot in the 10 or so years since I last went, but the prices were still amazing! Huge amounts of food for next to nothing, which will be great for if my bento catering business gets started 🙂

While there I found some Aladdin bento boxes, the pink one I bought was only £7.50 instead of the £20 on Amazon. The green and other colours were £10.50, not sure why the price difference for colour, maybe pink doesn’t sell as well.

It is a two tier and equals 0.95l with the bottom tier being 600ml and the top being 350ml.
